Inspirational Heat...

As Fall approaches and every major magazine puts out their HUGE "novel" for the seasonal welcome, I find myself overly excited to plant down on the sofa (a rare luxury for a business owner, mind you) and carefully pour over the pages. This Fall is an exciting one for us here at the camp as some of our favorite looks from the seasons past are presenting themselves in a new, more dramatic light. I was flipping through Elle a couple of days ago and found myself gasping... out loud and loudly. Sara was with me in the office and scooted her computer chair over to have a look. I'm sure we both had our mouths somewhat ajar. Stylist Joe Zee and photographer Alexei Hay really outdid themselves in their "LOVE THE 80's" spread. Bold hues with equally bold makeup graced the pages and blasts from the pasts had me giggling and remembering certain buys that I considered "do or die" purchases for my young teenage soul. (Body Glove, anyone?) The gasp was mainly directed at this visual below. Note to reader *I love red. And I love leather. And I love the cropped trouser look.  Oh, and I also love amazing jewelry. Did I mention I love buttery leather? Louis Vuitton nailed a killer look with this amazing ensemble and Marc Jacobs created the ultimate silver and pearl tie necklace. Together the look is modern, fresh and certainly gasp worthy! Gotta love the 80s! Ripping it Up at the Camp....

Okay so, some of you have noticed the plenitude of ripped jeans amidst our styling here at the camp and while we've lost our minds and want to shred every skinny jean that comes our way, we thought we would pay tribute to the one who inspired us.

 

                                                                

 

Some of you may be readers of Susie Bubble's fashion blog, Style Bubble, correct? And do you recall her attending La Cambre's fashion show for students as a panel member to judge their work? She was front row with Sami Tillouche and Lucas Ossendrijver of Lanvin, Isabelle Aout, studio director of Martin Margiela and Jean Paul Gaultier. Susie, of course, was holding her own as she does so well in "situations" such as these.  The Gucci event in NYC she attended? I wanted to be her date! Anyhow, it was the beautiful Isabelle who had us in a scissor-holding frenzy and we quite liked the texturally pleasing effect! It's an inexpensive way to add the "rocker-chic-laid-back-vibe" to the wardrobe as well as make use of lonely skinnies amidst newbie jeans. One word of caution though to those who will slice and dice...put the scissors down at some point! And walk away.... Shredded tops and jackets have yet to make their debut and you'll find the addictive need to shred is overpowering. Strange, yes. But true. xoxoDree
