What a charming city to fall in love with again! It had been 14 years since my last visit and much has changed but, still, much has stayed the same...The sea lions on Pier 39 basking in the beautiful sun, the steep ride down Lombard Street, the epic views from Coit Tower, Alcatraz and sailboats, the tasty dungeness crab (roasted in garlic) and the killer sourdough bread filled with clam chowder? A fabulous way to romance this girl! The shopping was truly blissful! Barney's and Neiman Marcus downtown were fabulous with amazing salespeople and choice buyers providing TONS of eye-candy. My mother (she flew down from Seattle to meet my husband and I) treated Steve to a fantastic Parisian cologne, Duc de Vervins, for his birthday and I subtly attacked him all weekend, he smelled that good! The Mission District was fun as my mother and I played it like locals and roamed the streets in search of vintage and food! My favorite part of the trip was, of course, shopping the famous Haight Street! Vintage was plentiful with Wasteland, yet again, being my fave although because of a late start, we only covered 1/4 of the street. (Note to self: MUST return!) This location, I thought, provided more stock than the Melrose Avenue shop in Los Angeles. I bought a killer distressed, vintage Louis Vuitton bucket bag, a Tracy Reese hippie tunic, an amazing ruffled neck plum sweater and an ethnic Indian sheer dress. My mother bought an Hermes wallet, a Burberrry coat and scarf as well as chic patent black Lanvin flats. At Decades, another fantastic shop for vintage, I chatted with owner Cicely Hansen about everything and anything and proceeded to buy the PERFECT leather motorcycle jacket. Size 34 mens! Very rare and fitted which is a hard feat for vintage motorcycle jackets. Although I would have loved to make the trip a shopping trip for the site, there just wasn't enough time! (I barely snapped any fotos!) I am leaving for Paris next Thursday and wanted to find some great vintage pieces to rock for Fashion Week so you see, it was a pressing issue! ;) The blog will still be active while I am away as I have written several posts ready to be viewed while I am gone (Oct 2-17). They'll be centered around topics currently on my mind..Fashion Week, Paris Flea Markets, what I'd like to encounter on my travels, (we'll be touring the French Riviera as well as Italy), Italian fashion and all the things in between. I hope to bring home some goodies but the main priority of the trip is really to celebrate our 1 year wedding anniversary and hopefully make a baby! Yay!! (I'll have to photograph the collection of vintage baby wear I've collected over the years..seriously CUTE, CUTE, CUTE!) Sara will be handling all orders and admin while I am away but be prepared for a full account of the trip upon my return including visits with Susie Bubble, Garance and a couple of clients I adore! Our next update is MONDAY, October 13th with another HUGE round of vintage apparel, accessories and more! There will be preview fotos right here in the blog next week so make sure to check it out! xoxoDree

And it all began with an innocent visit to a blog I found a while back highlighting this New Zealand wonder. Now I know I'm not alone here but when it comes to dressing, there are times I feel I cannot be bothered with accessorizing. Meaning, the quicker the process, the better. Because of this "busy bee" attitude, I've found that acquiring artsy pieces fits my lifestyle well. Simply put on a gorgeous piece and feel like a million bucks! I'd say more than half of my wardrobe consists of tops and dresses that can really hold their own. I make it easy for myself to just grab a killer pair of heels or a favorite pair of jeans/leggings and I'm done! I think this is the main reason why this collection has me hook, line and sinker. Beautifully simple yet artistically bold...keep it coming, Cybele! xoxoDree

Hey urbanites! I'm off for a quick jaunt to San Francisco for a bit of shopping and eating (two of my favorite activities) so Sara will be manning the shop while I am gone. All orders from this Thursday's update will be shipped on Monday and she will be answering emails until my return on Tuesday. Thanks for all your business! We love you! xooxDree
