We have the beginning of a huge collection making its way to cyberworld so be on the lookout! Safari, florals, sheer, jumpsuits, bandage, ethnic, lace...we're stocking it all! Also, we've added new pieces to the Sale department and are looking to restock weekly so checkback often! xoxoDree

We thought we'd switch it up a bit and feature one of our favorite fashion bloggers on the site and of course, we had to start with Queen Michelle of Kingdom of Style! A couple of tidbits you may not know:
Michelle is from Glasgow, Scotland.
She designed our website.
She does our covers.
Her creativity blows my mind.
She's one of the sweetest people I know!
How cool is it that you can make friends with someone so far away and successfully coordinate a cover shot? Or a website design for that matter? Mind you, I just told this woman I wanted her on the cover. So I guess there wasn't THAT much coordinating... I just knew she would come up with something stellar. It's gasp-worthy, we think and she's done us proud! BIG love from our side of the world, Michelle! You're beautiful!

We love it when we get to see gorgeous fashionistas in pieces from our collection! Here's the beautiful Karla in our Victorian dress and may we say, we think she looks angelic! The added earrings, nail polish and killer eye makeup do wonders for the feminine frock, don't you think? It doesn't hurt that she has the freshest haircut on the planet and it's certainly not a wonder to us that ever-trendy American Apparel featured her on their site and that her blog keeps the readers drooling for more. We're drooling too, Karla. Keep up the good work!

Now we know that some of you work during the days of our updates and being on a computer shopping just doesn't go over well with the boss so in effort to "spread the wealth," we will be adding new items to the shop daily versus all at once like we've been doing. Come back to the site often and you'll see new apparel, accessories, shoes and bags sprinkled into the collection. And if the timing is right? You may just score yourself that new vintage fave! We will continue to post preview fotos in the blog after our shoots so make sure to check back here! Below are a few of the chic pieces making their way to the shop. We'll start adding the goods tomorrow and keep adding throughout the weekend and next week...More to see, more often! xoxoDree

I'm sure that some of you out there can honestly say the thought of Spring is ridiculous, right? Amidst the runny noses and ice on the ground, Spring seems silly as a concept since Winter just settled in. And while this is true, the fashion scene just doesn't wait. We see the effects of fashion shows and trend forecasts on the streets. In the blogs. In the stores. And it's like a blooming of sorts. A dash of floral here. A burst of color there. The growth and vibrancy of Spring cannot be held down and well, I'm on board! We'll have that attitude here at the camp as the Spring Collection launch is just around the corner. In the meantime, we'll trickle in pieces here and there for the fashionistas that know 1) when it comes to vintage, you have to act fast, no matter what the season and 2) getting geared up for the upcoming sunny weather is always a fun endeavor. Here's a bit of image love via Jak & Jill that I thought pleasing to the eye. Real people with a real love for fashion and all rocking their own versions of blooming in the Winter...bless their vibrant lil' hearts! xoxoDree ps: Big update again late next week with new Apparel on the way!

While I would say 80% of my wardrobe consists of vintage, I'm a sucker for new key pieces to modernize my look. That's pretty much my take on styling too, otherwise the look can be too costume-y or harsh, I think. I wanted to share with the urbanites recent finds of mine since I'm forever receiving emails about my personal style and collection. You know what else I'm a sucker for? So and so for so and so marketing. It's brilliant! When a new collection comes in at Target, Topshop, H&M, etc, I'm game to check 'em out. One of my most favorite tops is a watercolor tent tank from Vera Wang for Kohl's. Savvy way to get a designer look for pennies! Here's my newbie purchases I'm loving right now:
Studded flats by Sigerson Morrison for Target, Olive Conga boots by Patricia Field for Payless, Black structured bag by Hayden-Harnett for Target
Then, of course, comes the vintage. Oh the vintage finds...don't we all love them? One-of-a-kinds just rock my world.
Vintage 80s faux Chanel tote bag, 80s nude jazz shoes and 70s missoni-esque cardigan sweater
And for those of you wondering, yes, I do live in the (urban) tropics. And it rocks.
We just marked down some new items for the sale department so check 'em out. New goodies coming again next week! Have a fabulous weekend! xoxoDree

So today's shoot was pretty interesting, to say the least. It started with a piece of equipment giving out and sending yours truly into a bit of a panic. But alas! With one of my New Year's ressies being to "let go of control and learn to roll with the punches," I figured the occurrence was directly tied into my passing the test or not. Thank goodness for lovely friends (models Lauren and Heidi) because they helped me work it out. With them being in full makeup and attire and with racks of amazing vintage one-of-a-kinds for the urbanites, we had to do what we had to do, ya know? It's 2009 and that's how we roll here at the camp. We took the studio outdoors with the natural lighting being a plus! Never mind that some of the shots are overexposed or have an odd blue tint to them...it's 2009 and another ressie? Acknowledging that imperfections can be perfect! And although the wind nearly knocked the backdrop down and Heidi unconscious, we had a PERFECT time! And so-ooo, the show WILL go on with the update happening this Wednesday. We're excited to share some of the goods and think you'll enjoy rockin' these in 2009! After all, isn't vintage THE way to roll?
